Surgery is NOT the answer for back pain. Orthopedists, through no fault of their own, are operating, literally, on a flawed premise.Successful surgery for low back pain is the exception and not the rule. They are selling people blue sky. And who would have surgery if their doctor sounded less than confident in the diagnosis?Do your own personal survey of those who have had surgery. Are they their old selves again? Look at chronic back pain blogs on the internet. Many people are having multiple procedures done to them, and continue to suffer immensely.Patients are so brainwashed into thinking a disc is pinching a nerve, the most minimal improvement is seen as success, and well, what more can you expect? You feel you are permanently flawed. Disc theory has been engrained in us for generations. I was raised on it, and used to believe in it myself. How else to explain radiating pain, or chronic pain that fails to resolve with conservative measures?Any radiating pain is given the catch all term "sciatica". It's automatic. It's how we're taught. I used to do it myself. It is not recognized that muscles can cause radiating pain, or nerve symptoms. As Dr Sarno has observed, there is no apparent spasm. And he's right, it is not apparent. If it's in the muscles, why doesn't massage work? What is being taught in massage schools does not work on tough cases, and in some situations makes people worse. Sometimes you can get away with what I consider over pressing forms of massage, and sometimes you can't. That's why we are stuck on the disc theory of back pain. I have students right now who just paid 12k for a year of massage school and they've never seen anything like what I teach them.There is a better way to treat muscles, and it solves the mystery of back pain.

leaches and blood letting were once in vogue too you know. you really have no clue how little doctors actually know about back pain.mark my words, the vast majority of spine surgery will be eliminated. people won't need it. they'll get their muscles treated correctly. when it comes to back pain, we'll look back on this period as the dark ages. quote me on it.

by cutting thru part of the spasm pattern that is responsible for their pain.look at the medical literature, or survey a larger sample, surgery is not good for back pain.and so many are brainwashed on disc theory that any miniscule improvement is seen as success. poppycock. the problem lies in what you don't see on mri. is understandably missed on palpation. and doesn't respond to barbaric massage. it's a beautiful thing ur missing out on. i'm the genuine article.

you've obviously sampled too small a group. try reading the medical literature, it says otherwise. your one front reveals you are mis-informed and making assumptions. the top experts are operating, literally, on a flawed premise. it's understandable why the world is stuck where it is. i stand behind my statement. i don't need to make it, quite by accident it's become my destiny. read my website, or book and get educated.

I am mistaken on MANY fronts...um I only put forth one? Why can you not answer me when I question why so many people I have spoken to after spinal surgery on a disc say the relief from the nerve was immediate? why?

money making scheme? ha! it's skilled, repetitive manual labor. the sort that makes most people run, not walk, the other direction. there's an honesty about this work, and it's tapped into a deeper truth. discoveries are made, and come from unlikely sources at times.you are mistaken on many fronts.educate yourself on my website. your loss if you don't.

So all the people I have spoke to about sciatic pain who underwent surgery in agony and came out without it just got lucky in that 1-2hr timeframe? This is a complete JOKE and this guy is trying to make money out of fear.Not all surgeries are sucessful on any body part. Its easy to look at the negatives and try and make money off it.Heck, some people die when they give birth, is this something we should now look into and maybe stop giving birth?I

what you were told to begin with was bunk.i whole heartedly support releasing pent up anger and emotions. but back pain is NOT directly related. if so why aren't teen-agers screaming with pain - in unison?everything works sometimes. i like john stossel, but that proves nothing to me. what do you do when sarno's stuff doesn't work? blame the patient? ha, there's a better way.i suggest you read my website, or book, and get the whole story.

I was in the ER with Severe back pain in 2005. I was told I would never be able to exercise again! By God's grace, I read Healing Back Pain by Dr. Sarno. After going over key points, I was back (and still doing!) 200 Floors on the Stairmaster in 30 minutes and lifting weights 30 min per day! (I am 56, female)It's true, if you don't have a tumor or broken bone, it's in your head, dealing with anger! wikipedia has link to 20 20 interview with him that is awesome! He cured John Stossel!
